D.O.T. Construction Closure UPDATE – July 28, 2017

Wright Street to close August 7 thru approx. August 25

On Monday, August 7, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin a 4 week closure of Wright Street at WIS 50 (East Geneva Street) in the city of Delavan, Walworth County. The closure is necessary for reconstruction of the WIS 50 and Borg Road/Wright Street Intersection, and replacement of the water main under this portion of the intersection.

The closure affects the north leg (Wright Street) of the intersection. This closure will not impact traffic on WIS 50 traveling east and west through the intersection. It will not impact the south leg of the intersection (Borg Road).

Access to businesses will be maintained. Motorists wishing to access businesses north of WIS 50 near Wright Street, should take Bauer Parkway to Hobbs Drive (north of the intersection), then connect with Wright Street.

The intersection is anticipated to open to traffic on Friday, August 25. The schedule of work is weather dependent and subject to change.

This activity is related to the WIS 50 project. More information can be found on the project website at: https://projects.511wi.gov/wis50walw/.

The D.O.T. will be holding a Public Information Meeting on Monday July 31, 2017 at 2:00 p.m. at the City of Delavan Municipal Building Council Chambers, at 123 S. Second Street,  to discuss the upcoming paving of WIS 50 and this planned closure of Wright Street.
