D.O.T. Construction Closure UPDATE – Sept 6, 2017
Seventh Street crosswalk work to close side street access along Highway 50
On Wednesday, September 6, the Wisconsin Department of Transportation (WisDOT) is scheduled to begin a 4 day closure of several side streets along Seventh Street (Highway 50) in the City of Delavan, Walworth County. The closure is necessary for the placement of concrete for the crosswalks at these intersections.
These closures will affect the both Wisconsin Street and Ann Street, for the blocks on either side of Seventh Street. Seventh Street will remain open, this closure will not impact traffic on Highway 50 traveling north and south through the intersections.
The work will also close the 500 block of S. Seventh Street and the 650 block of E. Geneva Street. Highway 50 will remain open.
This work entails saw cutting and removing the asphalt from the crosswalks, and placing red colored concrete for these crosswalks.
These intersections are anticipated to open to full traffic on Saturday, September 9. The schedule of work is weather dependent and subject to change. This activity is related to the WIS 50 project. More information can be found on the project website at: https://projects.511wi.gov/wis50walw/.
