Delavan Police Department:
General Information
Administration/Management TeamChief of Police - Timothy S. O'Neill Captain James M. Hansen - (Department Operations) Lieutenant Gregory Strohm - (Shift Commander & Support Services) Sergeant Wayne Riebe - (Patrol Supervisor) Sergeant Todd Wiese - (Patrol Supervisor) Sergeant Josh Flitcroft - (Patrol Supervisor)The Delavan Police communications system has entered the digital age. Like cellular phones that were analog for years and are now digital, we too have made the change to a digital radio signal. The reason for this change is better portable radio coverage which enhances officer safety. The radio vendors nation-wide are making the switch to digital because it provides better radio coverage and is much more cost effective!
The analog equipment needed to enhance our radio coverage is tens of thousands of dollars more costly than digital. While most police scanners are analog, the industry will be changing them also in the future. Until then, phase two of our project will allow you to monitor our police digital signal on your computer or smartphone. Incidentally our “City-Wide” radio system has had those nationwide monitoring capabilities for almost two years now. Computer monitoring for the police radio system is hoped to be up and operational in the next few months.
