Leaf collectionLeaf collection is conducted in the month of April and also in the fall beginning mid October as weather permits. Leaves must be placed evenly in the street adjacent to the curb and not bagged. Leaves can also be brought to the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road. Burning of small amounts of dry leaves and dry plant clippings is allowed from March 1st through May 31st, and from September 1st through November 30th. Hours for burning are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Burning of leaves in City streets is NOT allowed.
City drop-off compost siteCity drop-off compost site (Street Department), 490 Richmond Road, hours are 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Saturday operation will begin March 20th and remain open until November 13th. Saturday hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This drop-off site is available to all City of Delavan residents for the disposal of brush, leaves, or grass clippings with no fee charged. Placement of materials into the dumpsters is not provided by the City.
Tree TrimmingsTree trimmings can be picked up by calling 728-1891 to make arrangements. Please note that branches must be less than 6” in diameter, a minimum of 4' in length, but not longer than 12', and must be stacked neatly at the curb, cut ends toward the street. Branches smaller than 4' in length or bush cuttings can be brought to the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road. Brush collection will begin the first week of April and continue till the end of October, on a weekly basis. There is a 15-minute time limit per collection. Costs to the property owner will occur after exceeding the time limit.Yard clippingsYard clippings can be placed in the containers at the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road.
