Brush Collection Schedule for 2013
City of Delavan curbside brush collection program for 2013 will be the third Monday of each month from April to October. No phone call required for pick-up; please have branches out on the terrace by 7:30 a.m. Monday morning. The collection will start on the west side of the City, weather permitting, and will only go through the City one time each month. Collection dates are: April 15; May 20; June 17; July 15; August 19; September 16; & October 21.
Please note that branches must be less than 6” in diameter, a minimum of 4’ in length, but not longer than 12’, and must be stacked neatly at the curb, cut ends toward the street. Branches smaller than 4’ in length, bush cuttings, or items with roots can be brought to the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road, Monday thru Friday from 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., except holidays. Saturday hours are available between March 15 & November 15 from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.
City drop-off compost siteCity drop-off compost site (Street Department), 490 Richmond Road, hours are 7:15 a.m. to 3:15 p.m., Monday thru Friday. Saturday operation will begin March 16th and remain open until November 9th. Saturday hours will be from 8:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. This drop-off site is available to all City of Delavan residents for the disposal of brush, leaves, or grass clippings with no fee charged. Placement of materials into the dumpsters is not provided by the City.
Leaf collectionLeaf collection is conducted in the month of April and also in the fall beginning mid October as weather permits. Leaves must be placed evenly in the street adjacent to the curb and not bagged. Leaves can also be brought to the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road. Burning of small amounts of dry leaves and dry plant clippings is allowed from March 1st through May 31st, and from September 1st through November 30th. Hours for burning are between 7:00 a.m. and 7:00 p.m. Burning of leaves in City streets is NOT allowed.Yard clippingsYard clippings can be placed in the containers at the Street Department, 490 Richmond Road.
