Election for City of Delavan Alderpersons, April 6, 2021
The City elects local officials in April each year.
Two Alderpersons represent each district for two-year terms.
Each District elects one Alderperson each Spring.
The Mayor is elected in even-numbered years to two-year terms (2022 will be an election year for Mayor).
The Municipal Judge is elected to a four-year term in an even year (2024 is an election year for the judge).
Terms of office begin the third Tuesday in April, except for the Municipal Judge whose term begins May 1.
If there are three or more candidates for any one office, the City holds a primary election in February.
To appear on the ballot, candidates must file a Declaration of Candidacy, Nomination Papers, and a Campaign Registration Statement no later than 5:00 p.m. on the first Tuesday in January. See the Ballot Access Checklist for more information.
